Porch

O yeah we added a porch too.

Don't worry about the water, I had that fixed and we've added more furniture.

The Floors!

So the floors are down. . .and yes that is hardwood, not laminate. I have to first and foremost, thank my friends, Matt, Joe and Heath for coming over on saturday and helping out. We laid most of the floor that day but we had to call it quits after about 18 hours. Yes we started at 6am.

The most difficult part about laying the floors is keeping the glue from going all over the floor and yourself. We all spent about an hour trying to get the glue off our hands. One bonus is that the colors that I had to compromise on actually turned out to be more green, which is what I wanted, but we are both happy with the colors, she wanted brown, I wanted green. . . I give you Harvest Brown.

There are a few small things that have to get finished, the shoe molding, the transitions, and painting the baseboards. We should have all that done by the time we go home in November. All in all we are completely satisfied with the results. Hope you all enjoyed the pictures. If your in the area, you are more than welcome to stop by and take a look.

Painting

Here are the pictures after we painted. The color in the front two rooms is called Harvest Brown, which has some greens to it. The color in the kitchen is called Lost Atlantis. If you look at the picture to the left is hinting towards what you will see in the next set of pictures. Thanks to Kim and Erin for helping us paint. It looks great. Now we have the outside of the house to paint. . .any takers??????. . . . . .

House Updates

So we have started the renovation to the inside of the house. We have decided to put new floors down so we had to get a few things done before we can do that. These pictures are from before anything has happened. We have changed the colors of the walls in these rooms and they will be on the next blog because they don't let me post more than five pictures at a time. So on to the next one. . . . . . . . . .

WE MADE IT!!!

Well folks, we have made it thru our first Tropical Storm! Fay came to visit us for three days and is still slow on leaving! I was out of work for three days (although Wednesday I was out shopping all day-Fay wasn't real active that day). Yesterday was really windy. We lost power at about 11:30 p.m. so we took that as a sign to go to bed. This morning the power was back on and so was Fay. Today was worse, there was alot of rain, and big winds we have had three tornado warnings today. The lake behind our house is up about 2 and half feet. I guess we don't have to water the yard for a bit. All in all we were lucky. No big troubles in the neighborhood, a few people stacked down trees, but nothing fell over. We will all be back to work on Monday and Fay is going to keep moving thru the state. The news said that all the counties in FL were going to be hit and affected by Fay. She was huge! Well that is all for now, we are off to Melbourne this weekend for my aunt's birthday...more later!
